Background: Local catering company that has a downtown
cafeteria that had been in operation for many years with a
good reputation for good, down home cooking. They also ran
a catering business from the same kitchen that attracted high
volume, low budget meals to go.
Strategy: To expand their current market base, raise
their average catering ticket price and enable contact from
website through email. Client has little computer experience
and email was the only method discussed she was comfortable
managing.
Tactics: To employ a simple clean design with stunning
graphics to attract the upper end of the market, particularily
wedding and business gatherings.
Created rollover buttons with different colors and coordinated
those same color "themes" for each section of the
site that catered to the needs of the specific markets.
Included menu suggests for particular events which often are
considered as catering opportunities such as church gathers,
picnics, business meetings, weddings etc. to give the visitor
an idea of what is possible encouraging direct contact for
specific needs.
Search engine optimization was completed to acheive rankings
of keyphrases related to website (low level optimization yielded
first page rankings in major search engines).
Include graphics of past events and food displays.
Hung graphic banner in cafeteria promoting website.
Included website tagline on catering vehicles.
